Tommy Jones - Bow Legs

featuring the legendary Chicago pianist Willie Jones in one of his last recording sessions from the 70s...  and before

MJT+3 - Make Everybody Happy

both recent acquisitions among quite a few others from Groove Rennes in Rennes, France. Didn't have clear expectations when I walked in from the street and was mildly shocked to find a Chicago used record store transplanted into Northern France. Definitely one of the top soul/organ jazz stores in Europe - and very nice prices, too.

Picked this up yesterday at Wax n Facts, a local shop. Both the vinyl & cover are pristine! :D

Dizzy Gillespie, J.J. Johnson, Gunther Schuller - Perceptions (Verve)

Nice LP - I think I picked mine up from Mole Jazz’s second hand section. Also have it on Verve Elite CD. Good companion piece to JJ’s ‘The Brass Ochestra’.

Prince Lawsha - Firebirds Live At The Monterey Jazz Festival, volume III [Birdseye]

Buster Williams!

That looks enticing. I have volume 2 from that series -- the LP with Hutcherson -- but not vols 1 or 3.

I know that Buster plays beautifully on Firebirds.  He's such a monster. :tup

That volume 3 has Bobby Hutcherson on too.
