Wardell Gray 'Central Avenue' (Prestige 2LP reissue set)

Dexter Gordon 'A Swingin' Affair' (BN NY USA stereo)

Herbie Hancock 'Maiden Voyage' (BN NY USA mono deepgroove edition)

I have just put the latter through the VPI with super deep cleanser and the results have been pretty spectacular :) .

Jack Johnson: Brushfire Fairytales

When I see or hear about kids digging Jack Johnson, I get the thought that the world will be in good hands. My 16 year old says his concert at the Gorge had the largest crowd(sold out) he has ever seen there. When I first heard he would be be the headliner, I did not think there would be much of a turn out.

Groovin' With Buddy Tate (Prestige/Swingville)

Great Jazz Reeds on RCA Camden.

This, although it skips a couple of times, is a wonderful album.

It has tracks by:

Side 1

Sidney Bechet

Chu Berry

Barney Bigard

Johnny Dodds

Irving Fazola

Bud Freeman

Side 2

Coleman Hawkins

Mezz Mezzrow

Jimmy Noone

Charlie Parker

Pee Wee Russell

Ben Webster

Very nice variety of styles.

The guitar album - The historic Town Hall Concert (2LP, CBS 1972)

I'm not sure if this concert deserves to be called historic. But it is a very good recording with some very nice musicians on it (Tiny Grimes, Chuck Wayne, Charlie Byrd, Joe Beck, Bucky Pizzarelli, George Barnes & John McLaughlin).

One highlight: Joe Beck together with Al Harewood & Larry Ridley. :tup
