Used to hear him a lot on BBC Jazz Club sessions back in the day - his wife Pepi was featured quite a lot too. Yeah, they seemed like an interesting pair. I'm generally responsive to larger UK-free workouts, but I'm not sure that that one comes off that well in toto. The Marmalade, from '69, is the same as the Polydor, with Wheeler, Watts, Bailey, Dyani, Stevens, Lemer(s), Maggie Nicols and a couple of other vocalists. The Konnex CD is half a large group side with multiple pianos and a full chorus doing a post-Aylerian march, half the small group sides with "Bass Is", "Coleman", and "The Bird". From what I can gather, the LP (which I've never seen and have no information about, although I'd assume it is a double-LP...
