For MG:

Gene Ammons - The Organ Combos - Prestige (stereo, but listening in mono)

70s twofer collection of his organ dates from the early 60s.

Nice reminder TTK - pulling my copy out for tomorrow. But I'll listen in stereo :D

A different twofer tonight

St James Choir of Detroit - Come to Jesus - Sound of Gospel (SOG was owned by Armen Boladian - the man behind Eastbound and Westbound - from Funkadelic & the Ohio Players to the choir of the St James Baptist Church :))

This Is Our Music | The Ornette Coleman Quartet

Bought the new Rhino issue at my local shop, along with Donny Hathaway Live!

Its really nice to see a decent selection showing up at my local shop. For the past two years, it has been like walking into the pitchforkmedia.com website.

Lots of Blue Note stuff up on the walls now too, though I'm pretty sure they are the digital transfers.

Last night:

Sonny Rollins - Twofer compilation on Prestige. Music is from early 50s sessions. Cover image is from his Taxi Driver photo shoot.

It's been awhile since I saw Taxi Driver. Is that Rollins playing on the soundtrack, though? I remember being in high school and digging the sax on the theme. Is that theme on your twofer, and if not, is it available on LP/CD?
