Often thought about getting that for Rivers but there always seems to be better options on the 'to buy' list

you'd be right. It's fine but not necessary if you're fiending for other music as well. Wooley the Newt is better.

Lee Morgan "search for the new land" (blue note, stereo "ear" ny USA). I bought this some years ago in pristine condition...I know a lot of collectors prefer mono but I honestly think stereo Blue Notes sound better after 1963 or so...definitely a more spacious sound.

Lee Morgan-------Search for the new land-------(BN) NY mono - no ear ( so really a Liberty)

Thanks for mentioning this one again. Such a wonderful session and unlike the rest of Morgan's fine BN catalog.

I'm listening to the second half of Julius Hemphill's Dogon A.D. that I started last night.  My own energy was lacking so I had to abandon my listening session last noght before finishing.  It's a very nice reissue though not cheap.

Manuel Gottsching "E2-E4" (inteam, Germany orig). First play in at least 15-20 years.  Classic stuff!

Jimmy Giuffre 3 - 1961 [ECM] prompted by the "5 best Jazz albums" thread. Always a stimulating listen

Marc Levin Ensemble - Songs Dances & Prayers [Sweet Dragon] Probably a case of its rarity unjustly overshadowing the great and original music

Tom Prehn Kvartet - s/t [Centrifuga] interesting listen, more than just of historical interest, I think

and now...

Al Shorter - Tes Esat [America]

Chancey, Floridis, Kowald, Moholo - Human Aspect [Om]

Moholo shines (as do others) in two very different sessions

Steve & Iqua Colson - Triumph! - (Silver Sphinx, original private pressing)

Steve was selling sealed original copies of this one at a beautiful AACM-NY concert last night. Was glad to buy it from the source! Excellent music too.
