Olympia Brass Band - New Orleans Street Parade (BASF). Some of the Olympia's recordings are kind of trite and "touristy," but this 1968 German studio date is raw and fiery. The band is filled out with a few European ringers, including German trombonist Frank Naundorf. This was his first recorded appearance with the Olympia, but apparently it was a fit, because the next year he moved to New Orleans and became a regular member of the band.

Friedrich Gulda: Jazz At Auditorium   ( http://www.sonorama.de/index.php?section=FRIEDRICH_GULDA_ORCHESTRA_Jazz_At_Auditorium )

New album with unreleased music, recorded in 1962 in the Auditorium Maximum of the Freie Universität Berlin. Friedrich Gulda on the piano or baritone saxophone and as head of a 13-member ensemble of top musicians, with Benny Bailey, Erich Kleinschuster, George Riedel, Fatty George, Arne Domnerus and Ack van Rooyen.

Brilliant modern jazz in front of an enthusiastic audience, with titles such as Parker's "Anthropology", Monk's "Round About Midnight" and compositions by Gulda and Riedel, premiered by "Music For Three Soloists And Band".
