Sonny Stitt - Blues for Duke (Muse, rec. 1975)
with Barry Harris, Sam Jones and Billy Higgins

One of the best Ellington tributes I've heard.

‘Trombone By Three’ (Esquire, mono). Another £3 sleeveless special - Kai Winding, JJ and Bennie Green sessions from Prestige, RVG in the runout. Very good sound - in fact this LP looks unplayed. My guess is that this, like the Lester Young, was old warehouse stock which has been rediscovered.

If anyone has a spare sleeve, let me know. :D

I have the other two, Blame It on My Youth and PH.D., on CD. Should I seek this out as well?

If you've enjoyed the other two, I don't think you'd regret it. 👍

When I sold my vinyl collection 20 years ago, I got $150+ for that LP. Thought that was pretty good. Don't know what it would go for now.
