Excellent Cliff Jordan here.

Great late 60s session when I don't think Jay was working as much (?). Anyway certainly his timeless style wasn't exacty 'current'.

Typica of the live recordings of the era is my best description. I had not heard the previous cd release so I can’t compare it to that, but I would say a bit flat sounding dynamically and like they took a mono recording and made it stereo (I’m guessing they did but haven’t researched it) but it is immaculately pressed.

Many thanks for that. I’ll probably stick with Spotify, as it’s available there. Sounds like a good gig - hadn’t heard it before.

Definitely a great gig. Dexter was in top form.

Al Cohn on this too - surprised he wasn't listed on the cover.

Lining up three Houston Persons. That Chocomotive is a great potential BFT source with Alan Dawson playing vibes instead of drums.

Prince - Dance, Music, Sex, Romance 3LP bootleg 2LPs are commonly referred to as Small Club from 1988 and the 3rd LP is from Dortmund, Germany also 1988. I do enjoy finding Prince boots on vinyl.

Ran Blake - Duke Dreams: The Legacy of Strayhorn-Ellington (Soul Note)

Blake definitely has his own thing going on, a unique voice.
