I love the blues so just on the title alone, I was really looking forward to hearing this when I found a used LP at Stereo Jacks. I was very disappointed.

In contrast, I enjoyed it. Maybe Wild Bill isn’t to everyone’s taste and the playing time is a bit short. UK Verve mono sound quality on my copy is good though.

Roy Ayers - Virgo Vibes [Atlantic, 1967 mono]

been after a nice copy of this for a while, arrived this morning. Can't help but think that if this had been released on BN it would be much more well known.  What a line-up.

Eric Kloss - Love And All That Jazz [Prestige, 1966 mono]

One of my favourite covers.  I prefer Kloss's organ recordings.  Listening inspired by BFT 210

Interesting. I need to revisit those.

I too wasn’t too fond of it. Not sure I still have it to revisit it either.

I have that one on a blue label. Obviously a fan of Harold Wilson.

There was a mini-"series" of those in 1981, under Capitol...Gerald Wilson & Buddy Rich I can remember, probably a few others...Jazz Crusaders, maybe? I think the only difference was color scheme, at best.

People who complain about the "generic" Blue Note LT covers have no idea just how generic corporate minds were willing to get...and people who don't realize how close to death Blue Note was, hey, look at this, from 1981:

How this got left out of the Mosaic Select of Pacific Jazz piano trios is beyond me.

Yep, I had the Gerald Wilson LP.  It primed me for the Complete PJ Mosaic set, which I ordered immediately after it was announced.  :)

Next up:

These are some of thinnest LPs I've ever seen.  I'm talking PAPER thin!  Seriously, it bends sideways like a limp pancake if you only hold it on one side. ... OTOH, I think I paid $2 for it.  And it doesn't sound as bad as I expected when I held the vinyl in my hands.

Obviously, I didn't plop for the Ferguson Roulette set on Mosaic.  ;)

I didn't either, but that was my bad. The aftermarket price I eventually paid for it was more plump than plop!
