Nice story. Sounded five stars today too. Birth is Hampel's own label.

It's still readily available. Mr Bongo reissue is fairly new I think, supersedes the Jazz Man one from a few years ago

Yes, fine album. The version I was listening to was on a French Milestone double but I also have the original. Very powerful sax front line once they get going too, with Stubblefield and Azar Lawrence.
