The Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland Big Band - Fellini 712 (MPS, 1969)

Good fun.  One of the best CBBB albums, I think.

Lee Wiley - Night in Manhattan (Columbia)
Originally issued in 1951 as a 10" LP -- with a different cover

My version of this album is a Columbia Special Products "Collectors' Series" LP from 1973.

Mongo Santamaria - Sofrito (Vaya, 1976)
2022 Craft reissue

Love this one.  I'm so glad Craft reissued it.  It's more chilled-out than your typical Mongo record -- more of an easy-going Saturday afternoon with some friends in the back yard rather than serious Saturday night booty shaking at the club.

Attila Zoller & Masahiko Sato - A Path Through Haze (MPS, 1972)

Found a reasonably-priced vinyl copy of this album in VG+ condition (in the U.S., no less!) on discogs.  Glad I went for it, because -- big surprise! -- the vinyl sounds SO MUCH better than my amazon-sourced MP3s. . . .  I suppose it's not financially feasible, but -- from a strictly musical perspective -- I would love to see Edel make A Path Through Haze available again through their MPS reissue series.  It's a hidden gem.

Prompted by another thread:

The Kenny Burrell Quartet - The Tender Gender (Cadet, 1966)
with Richard Wyands (p), Martin Rivera (b), and Oliver Jackson (d)

As soulful as you might imagine... and then some.

yes, it's a really wonderful album and not too hard to find in nice shape for a reasonable price either.

I was listening to Bedside Manners Are Extra yesterday. The second track has duelling mellotron solos. More 1970s than Noddy Holder eating a steak garni and black forest gateau.
