Coltrane: Crescent

Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis with the Tommy Flanagan Trio: Straight Ahead (Pablo)

Nice record with very decent sound.

Ellington/Brown: This One's For Blanton (Pablo) A must own with wonderful sound to boot!!!

Ellington: Up In Duke's Workshop (Pablo) Love the fairly natural(large) dynamic range on this one.

Interesting choice. An album that is usually underrated. Although I haven't listened to it in a LONG time, I remember thinking it was better than most people gave it credit for. I'll have to give it a spin again sometime soon. (I've only got the vinyl)

Any album with Slick, Balin and Kantner together is worth a listen, and this is a good, even very good, JA album, but not a great one. Commonly available on vinyl, which is how I have my copy.

Sonny Rollins - The Bridge (Classic 200g)

Sonny Rollins - Brass/Trio (Verve black label - I don't know what distinguishes different Verve pressings - a topic for another thread I suppose)

Lee Morgan - Cornbread (NY address mono)

Bobby Jaspar (RLP 12-240, blue label, deep groove both sides)

Spaghetti & Meatballs and a decent cabernet. 2005 is off to a good start.

All over the place today.

Clifford Jordan-Dr Chicago- Beehive

The Beehive Sessions Unissued Tracks

The Visitors-Rebirth-Muse

The Visitors-Motherland-Muse

Red Mitchell-Rejoice!-Pacific Jazz

Ralph Burns-Bijou-Bethlehem

Australian Jazz Quartet-Plus 1- Bethlehem

Bobby Troup-The Distintive Style Of-Bethlehem w. Jimmy Raney

I chuckled as i listened to the Troup. All these hip tunes coming out of that old geezer Doctor on Emergency. But i guess Julie wore him out before his time.
