I guess too much music was committed to disc in too short a time, and after Granz sold to MGM and they god rid of Stuff, the recordings just lay in the archives ... glad they weren't lost, for sure! Or at least back then (the forties trio on the Progressive disc I just played previously to the Mosaic) he was well-known there? I guess Jimmy Jones is pretty darn interesting, not always great, but when he's on, he's on to something!
