Posted 5 Aug 2008 Freddie Redd. Thanks Dan--it arrived safely a little while back, and I hadn't gotten to enjoy until now. Great stuff--pretty much what I expected after watching The Connection a long time ago.

Posted 14 Aug 2008 Grachan Moncur III I just caved and bought this since it is running low--the only strategy I have for buying Mosaics without entirely ruining my finances. I don't think I'll regret it, will I Sundog?
Posted 15 Aug 2008 Over breakfast, disc 5 of the Lionel Hampton box, paying particular attention to the session with Lee Young. Nowt wrong with Lee's drumming on the two up numbers that I can hear. And his vocal on "Lost love" is so much like Lester's playing... RIP MG

I don't think I'll regret it, will I Sundog? This is an excellent set, great writing and playing by everyone involved. Very interesting to listen to a young Tony Williams! Especially knowing what was to come.

Posted 16 Aug 2008 Bix/Tram/Tea - disc 3 right now, been playing discs 1 and 2 a couple of days ago, some great, some good, but some annoying vocals, too...

Especially knowing what was to come. What Tom said! However, I don't particularly care for the "'Bout Soul" and "Some Other Stuff" sessions. Kinda wish those were on their own disc so I could avoid them altogether, but I guess that's what CD burners are for.
