A terrific set. But one question, is the featured Grachan Moncur on bass on a couple of sessions a relative of Grachan Moncur III?

Thanks. But then how about the III?

Sampling Capitol, June Christy and Thad Jones Blue Note sets (1st CD of each) on a French holiday morning.

I recently was invested of a large collection of boxes for a very reasonable sum from a family that wasn't using it very much so there will be lots of playing in the months to come.

Yes, it almost feels like too many good things at a time. Unlike many of you, I didn't have the possibility to discover them as they came, but will now try to slowly catch up.

Complete Clifford Jordan Strata-East Sessions - disc 5, the Wilbur Ware Super Bass session. It seems like somewhat less than the sum of its parts.

Perhaps my favorite Select. The outstanding session IMO is The Street Swingers with Jim Hall (my favorite guitarist) and Jimmy Raney. But Hall is also all over the rest.
