40 bucks is too good a price to pass for a box I've been drooling over for years. YAY! Ayler!

Eight days here too. I paid via paypal. No acknowledgment whatsoever from ESP either.
Scoring zero so far on customer service.

They're slow, but I just received my Lowell Davidson & Don Cherry CD's from the summer sale.
Took about 10-12 days, & I did receive a shipping notice.

It's a one man operation with the mail order and when there's a sale it gets a bit backed up. I recall similar stories from the last sale ESP had.

Yes, I ordered the Ayler set from them in February and it took nearly a month to arrive. It is a shoestring operation, and I'm grateful that someone has taken it upon themselves to do the mailorder for what I'm sure it little or no compensation. Patience indeed.

An e-mail came in from Tom Abbs saying he's leaving the company.

The Spirit Box came in today. What a package.

Boxed sets for me have been generally a mixed bag......not this one......the packaging as dazzling as it is doesn't trump the music.....listened to the first 4 CDs.....if I knew the music was going to be this good I'd bought this when it first came out at the regular higher price......don't own any other Ayler at this time(had Ghosts AKA Vibrations for a while then sold it).......this set is possibly all the Ayler you'll ever need all in one shot. At $40 + shipping you can't go wrong. By the way Rhapsody has the whole set available for sampling(but unlike Lala they charge after the first 25 plays).

Cargo Records are selling this in the UK for £50 (the cheapest price over here that I can see) and say that these will be the last copies...

"Holy Ghost Rare & Unissued Recordings (1962-70) 10CD Spirit Box
Revenant have let us have the final copies of this fantastic box set - once these have gone then it will be deleted. Revenant follows up its triple grammy winning Charley Patton box with holy ghost, a career spanning collection of the music of the sax titan Albert Ayler (1936-1970). "

It has a 'release date' of Oct 11th

I might get it, along with American Primitive 1 which has just shown up on Amazon UK again, no doubt for a limited time.

Discovery Records in the UK is also listing the Ayler box. Price is in excess of £50 but I think shipping is free in the UK.
