Hardbopjazz
If you could get into record companies’ vaults, what would you be searching for? There's has to be a lot of music no one outside the musicians playing on the date have heard. I remember Phil Schaff talking about the Charlie Parker Verve Box he worked on when the film "Bird" came out in the 1980's. He said there is a lot of music on those shelves. Makes me wonder just what we're missing out on.

Pete B
Brew Moore on Atlantic (with Tony Fruscella). Warne Marsh unreleased sides on Revelation, also from the Half Note (Verve)
JSngry
Airshots of the Earl Hines band w/Bird & Dizzy.
jazzbo
I'd like to find more Chicago era sun Ra material, but they're not likely in any vault! I'd like to find more Una Mae Carlisle material in RCA or Columbia holdings. . . I think the Columbia might yield more.
brownie
I'ld like to search through the tapes that Jerry Newman recorded over the years. There is a gold mine of unreleased music there. Just a fraction of it seems to have made it to disc.
Shawn
That unreleased Wilbur Ware album....
medjuck
Airshots of the Earl Hines band w/Bird & Dizzy. Ditto for the Billy Eckstine band.
Late
The "lost" Lacy/Rudd Quartet recordings for Verve and Columbia. (And maybe the "lost" or destroyed Atlantic recordings Lacy made with Ornette.) Also, the trio recording Don Cherry made for Atlantic ... that someone here might just know about.
