I have a few of his CDs: Snowfall (The Christmas Album) The Ultimate Tony Bennett MTV Unplugged Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album I prefer his later work, where his voice is a bit raspier. paul secor Posted July 17, 2005 Report Share Posted July 17, 2005 Three of my favorite Tony Bennett tracks were recorded with a Stan Getz group - Getz, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Elvin Jones - and not released until 1983 on a Columbia compilation, Singin' Till the Girls Come Home. The tunes are "Just Friends", "Have You Met Miss Jones", and Clear Out of this World" - unusual and well done examples of Tony Bennett singing with a jazz group. Bennett/Berlin (Columbia, 1987) is the one I listen to when I want to hear Tony. It's a nice selection of Irving Berlin tunes. It got me turned on to his music, and I found the relatively recently issued 13-cd box for a good price on Amazon. Anybody want to offer a list of their favorite Bennett? Music heavyweights Tony Bennett and Prince graced the R&B legend's sold-out concert in Madison Square Garden, New York. Bennett and Wonder sang "For Once In My Life" together, which they released in "Duets: An American Classic," Bennett's 2006 album. The song won a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. The artist with so many monikers, Prince, dazzled the audience with his appearance on "Superstition," during which he played the guitar while Wonder is on the keyboard. Prince had also played the guitar on "So What the Fuss" in Wonder's 2005 album, "A Time 2 Love". The show started off with the crooner being escorted to the center stage by his daughter, Aisha. He asked for a moment of silence to pay homage to those lost in the 9/11 terrorist attack and then went on to narrate how his mother's death inspired him to return on the road. The night was filled with some of Wonder's greatest hits from his successful career like "My Cherie Amour," "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life," "I Wish," "Boogie On, Reggae Woman," and "Sir Duke" among others. This show is Wonder's first headlining concert since 1996. His tour resumes November 28 in Charlotte, NC and ends on December 9 in Glendale, Arizona.
