CJ Shearn
I take care of the pre class music (one of my TA duties) so "Contemplation" was playing, and Mike, my professor walks in. I asked him to ID the band, he says "sounds like McCoy" all well and good....... but he thought the bassist and drummer were Charlie Haden and Jack DeJohnette, instead of Ron and Elvin... that was so funny. JSngry
I had a R.A. named Mike back in the day who told me that "all those Blue Note sides are just a bunch of cats having jam sessions just like we do here. No biig deal. Hell, I'm as good as McCoy Tyner." He wasn't. Wonder if it's the same Mike?

Or did you say, "Then why haven't you played with Trane for over five years"? This thread reminds me that I should really get this album; I've always been intrigued by the lineup and I know it's a minor classic, but for some reason I've never picked it up. A trip to the nearest music shop is in order.

(that's the last time, I SWEAR! )
