Clunky
Has anybody else heard thsi recent(ish) disc. I am not familiar with Laster but picked this up on the basis of Cuong Vu's presence. This is an exciting if quite challenging disc witha some what unusual instrumentation but it works very well. Trumpetter Vu is a curiosity for sure. I'm not sure he's found his niche yet. He has powerful chops and yet his own projects such as Bound(Omnitone) and another date on Knitting factory sound rather unsettling. He works well within this context. any one else/ Bryan Carrott - Marimba, Vibraphone Erik Friedlander - Cello Andy Laster - Composer, Sax (Baritone) Michael Sarin - Drums, Temple Blocks Cuong Vu - Trumpet
