Guy Berger
I left Israel too young to really appreciate the guy's genius, but I remember reading some of his hilarious essays as well as seeing the hysterical comedy "Blaumilch Canal". I guess I need to go out and rent "Sallah Shabati" ASAP. wikipedia article on Kishon Edited January 30, 2005 by Guy Berger

White Lightning
A great loss, for me personally. I love his writing and his sense of humour, in part because I come from a Hunagrian family. I often incorporate phrases from his writing when I speak. Kishon is part of my personal culture as well as a part of Israeli culture. RIP
mikeweil
Once saw him reading on TV - one sentence I will never forget: Is there a specific type of Jewish humor, and if so, why not? Thanks for this, Mr. Kishon!
