What's for Dinner?

Recommended Posts

Last night - whole Canadian lobster steamed in white wine with shallotts, garlic and sweet red pepper on a bed of organic spaghetti. Fresh rasberries and cream for desert. :)

g_d not only do you have great taste in music, but in food taboot! damn.

I don't know, it doesn't seem to be quite right to put onions or onions-like on lobster, or on any kind of seafood for that matter. :bad:

Fry the shallots in butter with fresh garlic and black pepper, add the white wine and reduce. Then add the seafood with lemon or lime plus heaps of fresh parsley. Cover the whole lot with a plate and steam for a few minutes. Works well in a wok !

Stopped off at the farmer's market for some fresh produce, rode home and made:

Picnic Rice Salad:

4 cups cooked brown rice

1 2.5-ounce can sliced black olives, drained

6 scallions sliced thin, with 3 inches green

1 cup cooked green peas

2 large tomatoes, chopped not peeled

1/3 cup shelled sunflower seeds

1/4 cup shredded basil leaves

4 tbs. olive oil

1 1/2 Tbs. balsamic vinegar

salt & pepper to taste

Combine rice, olives, veggies, sunflower seeds and basil. Whisk together oil, viegar, salt and pepper. Add to rice mixtrure and toss.

Turned out great!

Drinking: Samuel Smith Old Brewery Pale Ale

On the stereo: Sky Blue, Maria Schneider Orchestra.
