Just a reminder for Dallas area folks:

I'll be at the Sammons Center in Dallas on May 2. Joining me is Shelley Carrol, Lynn Seaton and Andrew Griffith. I should have a few comps if anyone's interested.

On May 1, I'll be at NTSU giving a piano master class (all can attend) and performing at the Student Union at 9:00pm. Only $5 cover.

I was going to attend, but talk about bad timing--coinciding with torrential rains, hail and high winds bearing down on the city. I'm afraid I just went straight home.

Same here. We had trees in our street and shit. Not a night for leaving the burbs and going into where the weather was really bad.

But I saw Shelley last night, and he said that the gig went well and that he really dug it.

Tell ya' what let's do - let's pick Moody up at the airport, highjack his ass outta that bunch, and take him to someplace where him & Marchel can play all night with Roger Boykin, Lyles West, & The Sheriff.

That I would go see.

Paul Bollenback turned out to be a good guitarist--plus he had Gary Thomas and Victor Lewis in his band. Also Ed Howard on bass and vocalist Chris Mcnulty.

I was wondering why UTD seems to be the only college in Dallas regularly presenting jazz concerts--it appears the Dean of the college is a jazz fan--he introduced the concert and was actually sitting and attentively listening to the concert.

Eastfield used to present jazz concerts years ago--I actually saw Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie and Henry Butler there, in Mesquite of all places.
