brownie
A mightily interesting interview you did, Clifford! Bernard Stollman is one of a kind! This brought back many memories (including several afternoons at 27 Cooper Square!). Glad to hear he will issue that Norman Howard session! Also any idea if he is still doing work for the Duke Ellington estate?

clifford_thornton
Stollman's portrait of Giuseppi is, of course, the exact opposite of Bill Dixon's sentiments of a warm, quiet, gentleman to whom a number of things happened that set in motion a sad decline. His ESP records are some of the best slabs of improvised music ever waxed, and I would be honored to be on his side of the street! AFAIK, Bernard is concentrating on the label almost exclusively, but I will ask him whether estate work is still part of his bag. I too look forward to a proper reissue of Norman's music; the December issue of Paris Transatlantic will feature an article I wrote on the two Homeboy Music cassettes. Keep a lookout! Brownie, I can only imagine the memories this brought back...
