Henry Grimes: favorite bass solos

Hey all, I'm putting together the Dec. 10 Night Lights program about Henry Grimes that will include some interview segments with him... what are some of your favorite late 1950s/1960s Grimes solos? So far, these are the musical tracks that I'll be using:

Perry Robinson 4, "Funk Dumpling"

Sonny Rollins, "There Will Never Be Another You" (RCA studio)

Sonny Rollins, "On Green Dolphin Street" (broadcast, excerpt)

Albert Ayler, "Ol' Man River" (take 2)

Henry Grimes, "Son of Alfalfa"'

Pharoah Sanders, "Japan"

Don Cherry, "Elephantasy" (excerpt)

Will probably use "Flowers for Albert" off the recent Grimes/Drake/Murray CD as well. I'd like to pull an excerpt out of the two Cecil Blue Notes, too. Some of these choices are being influenced by the amount of time I have to use between breaks, etc.

Thanks much in advance for your thoughts, suggestions, comments, etc.

An early solo by Grimes I always appreciated was the one he took at the end of 'Moon Rays' on the Roy Haynes 'Out In the Afternoon' album for Impulse with Roland Kirk!

Also an impressive solo on the following track 'Fly Me To The Moon' from the same album!
