Neat pic - wish it were larger!

Can't wait to get hold of this set. Sure to be one of the releases of the year when it arrives.

Thanks for the link to the Liebman blog - very interesting. Miles' old back garden is still quite recognisable from the one featured on the front cover of 'ESP'.

I've been assuming this will come out as a metal spine version, but it's nice to see that confirmed at MusicTap...

As previously discussed, Legacy and Columbia will release the 6CD The Complete On the Corner Sessions collection culled form the sessions that made up the On the Corner (1972) Miles Davis album. This reissue will provide over 6 and ½ hours of digitally remastered recordings including two-hours of previously unreleased music plus 5 tracks in previously unreleased unedited form. This set will be released on September 25 in a Deluxe metal cube slipcase and will contain an informative 120-page booklet. With this, there are now seven Deluxe Editions of Miles Davis album from various voluminous sessions.

This set wasn't part of the original plan of box sets. Do you think that that they'll do one for the last era 1980-85? I won't buy that one. I kind of wish they did one for the Mobley era only so everything could be in this series. It could've been Someday My Prince Will Come, all of the Blackhawk & the Carnegie Hall albums and called it From The Blackhawk to Carnegie Hall & been about 5 or 6 cds.

Now that Vince Wilburn has a hand in these things an 80-85 box seems quite likely. After all, that's the stuff he played on and his genius must be fully documented.

The latest versions of the Blackhawk material were expanded into two 2CD sets and were issued in a slip cover, effectively making it a 4CD box set. Seems like it would be unnecessary duplication.

Actually, the period around Decoy is of interest to me. To me, that was the last period where Miles was coming from a primarily "creative" place than what soon shifted to a "presentational" one. I enjoy both, but...

Unless you got no use whatsumever for 80s Miles, I think that Decoy might get overlooked & might repay further investigation. There's some intersting concepts opening up there that didn't get followed through on, I think, at least by Miles. Check it out.

I said this if a Mobley box was in place of the Blackhawk box that's already out.
