Alfred
Hi, just ordered the Mosaic Mobley set (it's PROMOTION TIME, folks!!!). Maybe someone is interested in a very fine copy of this rare CD! eMail me: miluro@gmx.de
jazzbo
Alfred, compare the two for sonic reasons when you get your set. I did. . . and decided to keep the TOCJ because it sounded better.
J.A.W.
The Mosaic's a terrific set, but Lon is right, the TOCJ sounds better than its Mosaic equivalent and so do the TOCJs of all albums that were included in the set - with the exception of the first date, of course, which was never available as a "Blue Note Works" TOCJ. Toshiba first released that one in 1990 (CJ28-5128) and reissued it as a JRVG. Edited July 27, 2003 by J.A.W.
Clunky
sorry to dissent but I hear zero difference between the Mosaic Poppin and the TOCJ, both sound just fine
