mgraham333
I'm looking for Julius Watkins – Julius Watkins Sextet Vols. 1 & 2 It ranked at the top of this poll so there may not be anyone who wants to part with it, but if anyone could let me know where to find this or wants to sell, let me know. Thanks.

mgraham333
jazzshrink: thanks for the tip. called them up this morning and they were more than happy to help. I like supporting local shops like this. I only wish we had more like it in my neck of the woods. I also liked the fact that I said I was looking for the Julius Watkins Sextets, and the nice gentleman said, "Oh yeah, the 10" series." The knowledgeable salesperson....I thought these were all but extinct... Edited August 18, 2003 by mgraham333
robviti
You may have spoken to the owner, Jack Woker. He is extremely knowledgable, as anyone in the Boston area can attest to. He used to host a jazz radio show. He also would lend his private collection to Harvard's radio station so they could hold "jazz orgies" featuring an artist's music around the clock for days at a time. Any jazz fan's visit to Beantown would be incomplete without a visit to Stereo Jack's.
Big Wheel
He also would lend his private collection to Harvard's radio station so they could hold "jazz orgies" featuring an artist's music around the clock for days at a time. Actually, he still does this for us, and I hope he continues to be so generous. He's a wonderful guy and I enjoy dropping by on Sunday afternoons and chatting with him about the music. Charlie Kohlhase, the local saxophonist, also works at the store some days.
mgraham333
I received my Julius Watkins order from Stereo Jack's today. It was in good shape. Nicely packaged. I don't know whether Stereo Jack's does a lot of mail order business or whether they were just very accommodating in my case. Either way the transaction was smooth and professional. Thanks to Jack Woker and to jazzshrink for the referral. Edited August 22, 2003 by mgraham333
