I threw in Herring because I believe he's had at least some gigs replacing Ralph Moore, though I don't think he's recorded. I saw the later era group a couple of times, including my one trip the Village Vanguard, so I gotta go with Ralph Moore.

Jordan. Not even a contest for me.

I dig George as much as anybody, but for THIS group, Jordan's grit provides an essential element that make it a BAND. Cedar without grit can get a little "generic" (but the HIGHEST quality generic) for me, and Jordan had grit to spare. Such a tone!

But I don't change the station when the Coleman edition comes on, if you know what I mean. ;)

None better than Clifford Jordan. He was the perfect man for this unit.

As BFrank noted, the group was the Magic Triangle when Jordan was part of it.

It became Eastern Rebellion in 1975 at the time Jordan left.

Caught the Magic Triangle live a couple of times but never got to see Eastern

Rebellion play.
