GA Russell Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Share Posted August 10, 2011 Chuck, other than politicians, Royal Copeland was one of the biggest names in Canada in the 20th century, in large part because he played for Toronto, the media capital of the country. He and his teammate Joe Krol were fair haired boys who were better than everyone else on the field and were easy to root for. As the obit says, Copeland is the only man to have ever scored a touchdown in three consecutive Grey Cup games. Perhaps they can be compared to the two Army players, Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside, Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis.
