Shawn, have you listened to ELO's "Time" album? I heard it for the first time about 5 years ago and now it's tied for my favorite ELO record.

Yes, I bought the LP when it first came out in '81, I think I also had the 45 single of Twilight. Really good album, generally overlooked. My favorite E.L.O. is Face The Music, but I like most of their albums.

I'm now listening to:

Chet Baker - The Italian Sessions

I was going to do the April Fool's thing and post a Kenny G album or the Jim Nabors Mosaic set... lol

NGC-4594: Skipping Through The Night. I love how on all the liners of my psychedelic rock cds, every, and I mean every cd is described as "lost classic." What ever happened to just being good?

Posted Image

Absolutely! There sure were a lot of "geniuses" in some of these forgotten bands.

I love the music, but sometimes the revisionism gets old.

I also wanted to mention that I love your avatar. "Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome" is a favorite and Marjorie Cameron was a very interesting woman.

Sometimes I feel guilty about my love of the movies of Kenneth Anger, but I see something new and interesting every time I watch one. I almost used Anais Nin as my avatar -- Pleasure Dome is a great movie!

I was thinking about making a Cat Shatner avatar with an Anais Nin picture with the birdcage. lol

I think Anger's movies are fascinating. I can understand the guilty pleasure aspect of it too. I agree, Pleasure Dome is an amazing film. I love the how the images and the Janacek soundtrack work together. It's even more fascinating when you look into the lives of the people in the movie.

That's cool. Discovery was the last ELO album I purchased at the time of the original release. I wish I would have heard Time back then.

I have Face the Music but haven't really listened to it much. I think I'll give it a listen. :)

Pentangle - Early Classics

I know this is a compilation album, but it really good. I have all the original albums, but this is usually my first stop when I want to listen to the Pentangle.

Jiggs Whigham & Carl Fontana - Nice 'n' Easy - TNC

How is this? I've met Whigham, and actually played with him once in the 80's (high school honor band thing). I've never heard any of his actual recordings though.

I like this one quite a lot. Two fine trombone players and a solid rhythm section play 9 good tunes.

We have the pleasure of his company nowadays. He has a regular Manchester gig:

My favorite Crim, hands down. Fracture does it for me everytime. No guitarist can crosspick like Fripp.

Mr. Wilson did a very nice job with the 40th anniversary edition. Can't wait to see what he does with LTiA!!!
