papsrus
An great player / composer / arranger. "God's Will" was a beautiful album, I thought. Saw Blanchard about a month ago and it was quite good -- wide-ranging couple of sets that included a mix of new and old. James Moody (tenor) was on board and blowin' his heart out. Christiern
Here are a couple of photos I took in Perugia during the '84 Umbria Festival: Terence, Ray Mantilla, and (partially hidden) Frank Strozier Terence watching the Brecker Brothers perform at outdoor concert

kh1958
The last few days I've been listening to the Comedian, a soundtrack album but really a Terrence Blanchard album. It's pretty good, with Kenny Barron as the other main soloist. It has three quartet performances, one piano/bass duo featuring Kenny Barron, and four pieces adding two saxophones to the quartet--Ravi Coltrane and New Orleans based favorite (of mine) Khari Allen Lee. It's quite a solid mainstream jazz recording.
Late
I always used to say that this is my favorite Wynton Marsalis record. But it's actually a very good Terence Blanchard record too. Sam Newsome sounds like Hank Mobley.
