Guest Bill Barton
Nice for Herbie, maybe good for the music, very good for his publicist. It is good for Herbie. He definitely deserves any accolades, however superfluous. I agree. Bill Dixon and George Russell in the same breath??????? Uh, I think that I heard him take a breath in between. clifford_thornton
Bill Dixon and George Russell in the same breath??????? Certainly. I'm sure we both have Bill Dixon stories, albeit from differing perspectives.
clifford_thornton
I'll add that "same breath" applies to under-recognized but great composers in the music. Dixon's instrumental approach, along with many other things, take him out of that "same breath."
Ken Dryden
I quit reading Time a long time ago, especially its very weak arts section.
JSngry
I quit believing in time a long time ago, at least as a linear construct.
Adam
I quit believing in lists a long time ago, especially those in weekly periodicals.
