Peter Posted April 3, 2009 Report Share Posted April 3, 2009 (edited) All three of these just blow me away! Jackie McLean, Complete 1955-57. Obviously not his best stuff, but great none-the-less. Have been enjoying his later Blue Note, Steeple Chase & sideman stuff for years but never checked out his earlier stuff. The Kinks, Picture Book. Had only listened to 1 disc best of until I took this leap. Discs 1-3 are fantastic, #4 merely great & #5 good. #6 is marginal. Little Walter, Complete Chass Masters. For fans of post war electric Chicago blues, this is a must. Would like to see Jimmy Rogers' dates as a leader get similar treatment!
