A Lark Ascending
Sounds like the sort of jazz these chaps would listen to: You have to be a brit of a certain age to get the reference...though all can be relived on YouTube:

Rooster_Ties
You know, I could totally see some kids (which is anybody under 30 at this point), discovering this -- kinda getting off on it (somewhat) -- and then checking out the original. Stranger things have happened. Hell, worst case, it might even be better than a few of the less inspired Miles tributes I've heard over the years. Teasing the Korean
Is Debbie the Bloop from Lost in Space involved?
BeBop
There's a group/assemblage known as 8-bit Operators that did send-ups of Kraftwerk songs. THAT's more musically satisfying, IMO. Here, it comes off as leaden. Maybe because Miles and Co. swung.
Jazzmoose
I thought Kraftwerk already sounded like this...

Teasing the Korean
I love video games, but that's bad. Moog albums pre-dated the classic video game era by more than ten years. This album is going for the former, not the latter.

This album is going for the former, not the latter. oh yeah, I know . But still, I hate the sound of Miles' solo to the sound of an 8 bit square wave lead. Though I'm a child of the NES era, there were far more technical advances in game music, when I was 11 or 12 through composers like Yuzo Koshiro, Tommy Tallarico, and Nobuo Uematsu. Koshiro's soundtracks for the Sega Genesis series "Streets of Rage" have made for some of the best early 90's house in a game ever.
