yo ralphie_boy! Would you recommend Blackstone Legacy? I've been eyeing it...

I've been listening to "Legends Of Acid Jazz" discs for Gene Ammons, Houston Person, and Sonny Stitt.

Yes, I definitely recommend Blackstone Legacy. Great playing by all involved, especially Bennie Maupin and George Cables.

Got Blackstone Legacy last night, along with the other Woody Shaw studio album emusic offers. One listen has confirmed your advice was sound, ralphie_boy and AfricaBrass! "New World" was my immediate favorite. :rsmile:

Another thread took me back to Barry Ulanov and his All Star Metronome Jazzmen with Bird, Navarro, Gillespie, Tristano etc. on Spotlite (Anthropology and Lullaby In Rhythm). Haven't had these out for years, lovely stuff.
