Gary, I know exactly what you mean re "A New Perspective." I'll never forget my first listen..."Buh dot duh daaaah...dah dah dot". What the ?!@#

I kind of got over it, but I'm still kind of lukewarm to the session. "I'm Still Trying to Get Home" was a weak follow-up, IMHO...

I kind of dig A New Perspective. It took me a long time to get past the Star Trek voices, but Christo Redentor really moves me.

That song and Coltrane's Alabama always get me.

I can't imagine what they were smoking over at Blue Note when they decided to put this album out as an RVG. There would have been better Byrd albums to put out.

I still haven't heard I'm Still Trying to Get Home. I don't feel much need to track it down, though.

:rsmile:

Peter, maybe A New Perspective would be a good album of the week.

Nah, just kidding!

No jazz for me either, right now Jazzmoose. I'm bumpin' tonight:

Typical Cats

Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections

The Grouch Crusader For Justice

Automator Ready For My Close-Up

DJ Krush Code 4109

Talib Kweli Quality The track "Joy" with Mos Def is playing right now--gives me chills it is so good.

Speaking of spine-tinglingly good, I just pried Wayne Shorter's Speak No Evil out of my player after two days of heavy rotation. What an album!
