What is this, exactly?

Figures of Harmony: Songs of the Codex Chantilly, c.1390

Description

Complete recording of one of the manuscripts, kept today at the Château de Chantilly museum in France. Forty-four titles, featuring works by Senleches, Ciconia, De Caserta, Suzoy et al. (Ferrara Ensemble/ Crawford Young. Recorded 1994-2009. Total time: 260')

I mean, I can read the words, but what do they mean?

Yeah, I figured that much...

What is the "Codex Chantilly", that's what I don't know and didn't want to look up in Wikipedia, but now I will...is it of any real significance/importance? Or is it just old?

Looks like it predicts George Crumb, though!
