Are there any box bargains currently available?

That's a nice set.  I'm torn between that and the excellent "Otis!  The Definitive Otis Redding" 4-CD Box Set.  I own them both and probably should sell one since they overlap so much, but feel a sense of loss at the idea of getting rid of either.   Have the same problem with with corresponding Aretha Franklin boxes (the original 1992 "Queen of Soul" and the 2015 "Atlantic Albums Collection"), though that one is easier to justify keeping both, since some key early 70's singles are not on the Albums box.

Is Eat to the Beat a legit label?

They have a series of box sets of radio broadcasts called Transmission Impossible.

Here is the Miles box - 3 CDs for $9.95.

Since nearly their entire catalog is listed as "unofficial" on discogs, I would think they are a bootleg label.

Fleetwood Mac 1969-1974 (8 CDs) - $31.99 + $3.97

That's a GREAT set.  The Peter Green-led masterpiece "Then Play On", the three wonderful Danny Kirwan-led albums, an excellent live session with the Bob Welch-led version which far surpasses the studio albums of that version , and three other albums of the Welch version.  Excellent remastering, nice packaging.

By the way, did you know that their lead singer Gary Troxel had a case heard by the Supreme Court?

FORGOTTEN 60S: Now 100 Hits - $7.95

https://www.hamiltonbook.com/forgotten-60s-now-100-hits-compact-disc

I've never forgotten these songs.  Maybe it's because I've never heard of half of them.

I want to point out one that the Brits here might remember from 1967 - Simon Smith and His Amazing Dancing Bear by The Alan Price Set.  This song was the first music video I ever saw (not counting Rick Nelson at the end of Ozzie & Harriet episodes).  Dick Clark showed it on American Bandstand.

This is a pretty good set for the price, and worth getting.  A lot of good memories, stuff I'd never buy (especially as a kid) but, yes, never forgotten: Bob Lind - Elusive Butterfly (ever try writing a poem in 7th grade?  It sounds like this), Shirley Bassey - As Long As He Needs Me, The McCoys - Hang On Sloopy, Joe South - Games People Play, Brenton Wood - Gimme Little Sign (I have this single, on Double Shot Records), Lou Christie - I'm Gonna Make You Mine, Crazy Elephant - Gimme Gimme Good Lovin' (I have this one too - Bell Records), The Tremeloes - Here Comes My Baby (great party record), The Showstoppers - Ain't Nothing But A House Party (covered by The J. Geils Band), and that's just CD One.

Have people actually received this? Seems too good to be true. :)

I saw Mayall with Mitchell at the University of Chicago in a small hall, no seats, just a dance flor, on a double header with the Ohio Players, which was televised later on one of those late night weekend shows. A very memorable night.
