Victor Christensen
Fantastic, I have just this past saturday attended a concert here in Copenhagen of that symphony conducted by Stanislaw Skrowaczewski (87 years old), fantastic music, there were also two other pieces, Mozart's Concerto for obo, and the conductors own creation "Music for winds", also so great. EyeSpeech
What a treat. Wish I had the chance to see him conduct Shostakovich.
Dmitry
My father gigged as a librarian in our local philharmonic hall [Odessa] sometime in the late 1950s. I have a bunch of photos that touring artists signed for him; most of whom I have no idea who they are. Shostakovich-inscribed photo is among them. Victor, if you liked Skrowaczewski, you must acquire the Mravinsky/Leningrad Philharmonic recording of the 10th.
