Now this one certainly had a lot going for it. Recommended!

Yes, and of course the "lemming invasion" was straight out of The Birds.

Well done, I enjoyed it too but the ending with the explanation of the rodent and coming family addition seemed like a studio imposed coda. I wonder if it might have been better to finish with an abrupt ' fin' with the phone ringing.
Charlotte Rampling's unexpected departure reminded me of Janet Leigh's in Psycho.

They used to run this film all the time, "Back in the Day" It was one of the few Sean Penn films I really liked...I remember the beat-down with the sodacans, and of course the booming boombox!I haven't seen Bad Boys for years, but it made quite an impact on me when I was younger. One of the most memorable scene has to be the beat-down with the pillowcase full of soda cans.
May's star of the month on TCM is Joel McCrea , so you might want to see if it's running then.
Jacques Tourneur's 'Wichita'
very pleasant western with Joel McCrae at his usual best as Wyatt Earp!
Interesting, another Tourneur I haven't seen, need to remedy that.

Sure you'll enjoy Harry. Your Hitchcock viewing suggests you're on the right wavelength.
Another from Dominic Moll, director of Lemming. I saw both on release and they've stood the test of time well.
I haven't seen that, thanks for the heads up.

I now realize that I have seen the film under the title 'With A Friend Like Harry'. It was good but I need to re watch it.
ps Low and behold I've actually got a copy filed under the French title 'Harry Un Ami Qui Vous Veut Du Bien'!
