skeith
Anyone pick this up? Any comments on sound quality, the Newport live bonus cd and the DVD? I think it came out in 2009?
mikeweil
I have it - was available at bargain price recently from some German mail order shop. Sound is excellent on the studio tracks, the live sound is okay, but not overwhelming, the playing is very good. The DVD basically is a series of interviews with Brubeck - nice. For a Brubeck fan, the best way to get this music. I can't help but think they edited out a piano solo on the legendary Take Five - any opinions about this? jazzbo
I have this and it's as Mike says. There's info on the board about this somewhere, I remember a half dozen opinions.
monkboughtlunch
I had it and dumped it, preferring the 1997 Legacy single CD instead. The problem with the deluxe 2CD Legacy edition: a dropout in the opening seconds of Take Five, which is not present on the late 90s remaster.
