Clunky
I just picked up a couple of very cheap LPs (£2) of Red Rodney's from 1981 and 1982 on Electra Musician. (Spirit Within and Sprint) I can't play them yet as my new turntable isn't ready yet. Should I be excited or are these pretty routine, anyone know? I have very little Red other some sides with Parker and Chaloff, so I am certainly curious. Edited January 21, 2004 by Clunky
fasstrack
That's the group with Ira Sullivan, right? That's worth a listen. Also very good is a date he did toward the end, where he revisited bebop tunes he did with Bird and others. Bob Belden did the charts. I can't remember the name just now, but it was recorded in '91, I think. Good stuff.
