Mike: Maybe this is a silly or unfair question, but do any of the many fine musicians you've interviewed stand out as being especially personable, friendly or interesting?

So may of them fit the bill on all 3 counts, it would be a longer list than I could possibly recall.

A number of them are people I've met like Russell and bandmate Bob Mintzer.

He [Ferrante] attended San Jose State and the roots of the band are in this area, his entire family is from this area as well, and I've also done business with some of his relatives in the car business.

One of my all time favorites (to choose one) was with Toots Theilmans.

This was a session we taped in his hotel room, and as I asked various questions, a number of his answers came back as he picked up and played the harmonica or his guitar!

are you going to try to interview Gregory Porter while he's in "your neighborhood"?!? or maybe you'll be waiting for his new release due out in September, "Liquid Spirit". hope you at least get to talk to him Sat. night.

Most [not all but the vast majority] of my guests have a new or recent release that's in play at the time they come on, so I'd have to say we'll wait until autumn for Gregory.
