Let's celebrate Archie Shepp in the 1960's

Recommended Posts

Tenor saxophonist Archie Shepp's compositions played by The New York Contemporary 5 start us off this evening on Jazz From Blue Lake @ 10p.m., and rather than featuring an overview of his entire discography, the first 20 minutes of each hour, from 11 p.m. - 3 a.m., will bring you his 1960's and 1970's era recordings on Impulse Records, from the time he's regarded as a political, social and musical "firebrand." "Four For Trane," "Live in San Francisco," "The Magic of Ju-ju," "On This Night," "The Way Ahead," and "Kwanza" are some of the albums we'll draw from. Music to keep you up, tonight, on Jazz From Blue Lake: http://www.bluelake.org/radio.html
