jlhoots
Back in the day when I listened to that "type" of music, I sort of liked Was Not Was.
colinmce
Starbucks has their own label, and Barnes & Noble is going bankrupt. Where does Was suppose he'll sell these things?
marcello
Starbucks has their own label, and Barnes & Noble is going bankrupt. Where does Was suppose he'll sell these things? Downloads. The label makes money, the artist make squat.
Ken Dryden
Blue Note, Concord and Verve are all shadows of themselves, having deleted much of their valuable catalogs and not much resembling jazz labels any more. Alfred Lion, Carl Jefferson and Norman Granz would not be pleased.
Jazzdude
Hi, Ken What does it mean for them to "delete" their catalogs? Can they be accessed in any form or did all that music by Mobley, Ella, and many others just disappear? I have noticed increasing numbers of empty bins at Ameoba Records in Hollywood, probably the best place for Jazz in America now.
