The Columbia Jazz Piano Mood Sessions (Mosaic 7-CD set)

Recommended Posts

Hi Kevin,

I think it's a very nice set, there are some pianists here that were new to me at the time and the music is very nice. As is the sound. Nothing here is as essential as say the Lester Young, or Basie or Ellington sets, I wouldn't pay a fortune for it. But if you love piano music it has some very enjoyable sessions.

Thanks, guys. I just purchased a "like new" set on Amazon for $125, including shipping. That seems like as close to the original sale price as I'm likely to get. I've been really getting into 1950's piano trios lately. Thanks again.

If you don't know the Ahmad Jamal material from the standalone disc on Legacy, you're really in for something.

I do know that one, and yes it is a great one. Thanks.

Bill Clifton, whom I had never heard about before, is an amazing pianist.
