2013 Fall Funddrive

You may have noticed the forum was down. The last funddrive ended in July but July wasn't paid for, so I owed three months worth of server time at $150 a month. Usually they let me get to four months without turning off the server but not this time! :)

So anyway, I paid the $450 out of my own pocket. Paypal is b3groover@hotmail.com. Address for checks is:

$900.00 to pay you back and to pay ahead until the end of 2013, correct?

If just 9 people give $100.00, it's a done deal. 18 people, $50.00, etc. Go over that, and maybe get a month or so of 2014 paid.

Point being, this is not the time to think in terms of a "casual" donation, unless you are in fact a "casual" user.

Not talking actual $$$ amount as much as the consideration of what is affordable for each of us.

Sounding like PBS, I know, but now that the kids are gone, I get more out of this place than I do PBS.

Don't make Jim have to bring TJ Lubinsky up in here! :g

Donation made. I've been revisiting Coltrane's Prestige leader sessions, working on some programs, and happily checking in on the board again in the past hour. (When I saw the link to this thread in the "We're back" posting, I thought maybe Jim had tried a real hard-knuckled, pull-the-plug-for-24-hours approach to fundraising... ;) ) Haven't been as active for the past couple of years because of big life changes, but this place will always be my Internet home. Thanks again to Jim and the moderators and all youse guys for helping to tend the board's unique flame.

If you want to think really big...$2700.00 total should be enough to bring everything current until the end of next year, correct?

27 people giving $100.00 each...I don't know that we have 27 people who could give $100.00 each, but think of it in those terms. 2 people partner in @ $50.00, 4 people @ $25.00, 2.857142857142857 people @ $35.00, etc. and next thing you know, the server is booked for the next 15 months. There will be plenty other stuff to be worried about during that time, but the lack of the O-Board will not be one of them.

Or hell, just one rich and/or generous mofo giving the whole $2700.00. That'll work too!

Either way, it's doable.
