if I could keep only two live recordings with Bird, it would be "One Night at Birdland" with Fats and Bud, and "Summit Meeting at Birdland" with Diz and Bud.....

I'm sure I'll have passed "Summit meeting at Birdland" assuming wrongly that it was the Fats/Bud date from the same location.

Any particular editions of this date that better sound wise than others?

Fantastic thread, thanks a lot all. I didn't realise there was so much live Parker out there with decent sound quality that I hadn't already discovered. Thoroughly enjoying 'One night in birdland' at the moment!

just in case anyone stumbles over it ... I've got some of the Birdland material discussed here in this Ember 4CD set (there's a Charly one, too - not quite identical it seems, different cover, too ... and the Ember was also out in two 2CD sets ... don't think there was ever a Vol. 2):

Seeing this thread makes me realize I've slept on a lot of live Bird - is it cheapest and easiest to find used LPs on eBay? Do the OOP CDs go for crazy prices? I'd like to hunt some of these recordings down, at least the best one with the best fidelity.
