Monk III on Miles and Monk

Recommended Posts

Hmmmm.

First sentence of the piece "Late Jazz legend Thelonious Monk is known across the world as a musician, bandleader, composer and vocalist."

I also like the goofy second sentence: 'With his signature “bebop” jazz sound and his diverse repertoire, younger jazz musicians looked up to him as a profound and prolific thinker about jazz music and its historic institution.'

I remember that historic institution; it was at 81st and Broadway.

What a bunch of bunk. Miles Davis (whom I dislike almost as much as Ebola) thought of Monk as a stumble-bum on the piano and in that case he was right on target. Gerry Frederics

Insightful commentary!

Googled the above commenter and apparently he posts a fair amount on White Nationalist and Hitler/Nazism revisionist sites. Sheesh...
